Rule of Thirds Project

Image
I took this photo in the new cafeteria, following the rule of thirds by keeping the volleyball on the right side of the grid. I used two hydro flask to demonstrate the rule of thirds. By doing that I separated the two bottles from the left side of the grid. I separated the exit door from the left side of the grid to demonstrate the rule of thirds. To break the rule of thirds, I kept the speaker in the center of the graph instead of separating it from the two grids on the left.

My Heroes/ Role Models

Image
My Heroes/ Role Models My mother is at the top of the list, of course. She has done so much for my sisters and I, I wouldn't know where to start to thank her for all she's done. She is the most hardworking and loving woman I know. Her energy and personality is incomparable. Merissa Rasa is a whole vibe. The best person I know. My #1 Hero, my father. He has this mind over matter and I don't give a damn about your opinion mindset that I wish I had. He inspires me to use my full potential. To me, he is the definition of hard work pays off. He has been there for me since day 1 and it has never changed.  Last but not least, my sister, Thia. She has helped me overcome my demons through this hectic stage of adolescence. She's the only person I know who's bought multiple cars before she turned 25. That is definitely something I want to do. As well as have her college grades. She is always on a roll. She is the coolest sister ever.

Iconic Photographer Photo Project

Image
Elliot Erwitt is one of the most iconic photographers that stood out to me. He is known for his sense of humor that consists of ironic and satire images of events in his everyday life. Erwitt promotes comedy. I laughed at most of the photos he captured only because they are ironic images. I like how he travels to different places and manages to capture irony where ever he goes. I admire how his pictures display his sense of humor as a photographer.                                                               Examples of Erwitt's work                                                  My photos inspired by his style Image 1   This photo was taken at Managaha Island after I jumped off the dock. Who's pulling who? Image 2 I took this photo in my car featuring my boyfriend's dog in the driver's seat. Driving me around as always. Image 3 I took this photo at my house. My dog loves popping on the ocean. Image 4 I took this photo of my friend Isaac Heo during AP Psych. He likes

My Morning View 1

Image
Image 1: This is literally the first thing I see in the morning from my bed. Featuring my Jergens lotion on top of my drawer. Image 2: Behind the Jergens sits my waterproof speaker. After getting out of bed, I walk straight to my speaker and blast the jams while I get ready for the day. Image 3: Next, I greet my dogs. It's my usual routine in the morning. They are always waiting by the door which warms my heart.

Kaya's Introduction

Image
Hi everyone! My name is Kaya Rasa, I'm 16 years old, and I'm currently a junior at Marianas High School. I spend most of my time in our beautiful ocean if I'm not studying or hanging out with my friends and family. I am a team member of the Va'a (outrigger) national team; currently training hard everyday to represent our beautiful island in the 2022 Pacific Mini Games. I am a huge fan of capturing photos of Saipan's gorgeous sunsets. I wish to learn more about photography and apply it to my life.

War in the Marianas

Image
Starting from the south we have Sugar dock located in, Chalan Kanoa, Saipan. The dock was built during the Japanese period in the Northern Mariana Islands. It was developed by the South Seas development to support the sugar industry at the time. The Americans used it for logistics during and after the battle of Saipan. Up in As Lito airport field, today   known as Saipan International Airport was where aircrafts and spare engines were stored. It was a sugar cane plantation before the war until the 27th Infantry Division captured it during the battle in the night of June 16-17, 1944. The interesting part about this leads up to a story about a pilot coming from Guam, unaware of the capture by the 27th Division. The plane was fired upon and captured as well.    Down North is the Last command post. The Last command posts holds war remnants and the last bunker of Japanese defenders in Saipan. It was captured by the 4th Marine Division after heavy fighting. To the left is a picture of som
